Preparation: Base coat your surface with 2 coats of SetCoat® Black or other color of choice, letting It dry at least 4 hours between coats and at least 24 hours before applying the faux finish. For best results, be sure to use a low nap (1/4 to 3/8 inch) roller cover.
Step 1: With a Venetian Plaster Trowel or Pavan Plastic Float, use a modified knock down technique to apply a randomly vertical application of StucoLux™ Metallic Rich Gold, leaving small open areas of the black base coat showing through (approx. 10-20%). Allow to dry completely before beginning Step 2.
Step 2: Repeat the technique in Step 1, this time using StucoLux™ Seagrass. Continue the generally vertical direction of the finish, overlapping some of the StucoLux™ Metallic Rich Gold but leaving some areas of the black base and the previous layer of gold showing though (approx. 40%). Allow to dry.
Step 3: Repeat with StucoLux™ Sedona. Allow to dry.
Step 4: With a Venetian Plaster trowel, apply untinted StucoLux™ Fine Polishing. Continue to use the modified knockdown technique but connect the sections for more solid coverage. Leave small organically shaped windows open in your application to allow small bits of each of the previous layers to show through. Allow to dry completely.

Step 5: Combine StucoLux™ Seal with 10% SoSlow™ and 10% FxThinner™. Add 10% Stain & Seal™ Honey Pine to the mixture. Apply with the 4” Chip Brush and remove excess with a clean soft cloth. Further soften with a Badger Brush if desired. Allow to dry completely. Buff with a dry cloth for a soft sheen if desired.
