Lauren along with 26 other notable regional and national artists took bare wooden violins as their canvases and created very unique and vibrant works reflecting a variety of styles and media, as well as personal concepts of art and music. The artists were given classical symphonic pieces to be used as inspiration for their art. The completed works were auctioned off during a black tie event held to celebrate the FWSO. During the event, North Park Dallas hosted an Oscar de la Renta fashion show where the models, dressed in couture clothing, carried the violins down the runway. Lauren’s violin, finished exclusively with all Faux Effects products and custom EZ-Stick Stencils brought in an astounding $6,000.00 where as the event itself raised over $100,000! The works are currently on rotation during the FWSO concerts at Bass Hall in FortWorth, Texas.
Lauren Childs began studying life drawing at Texas Christian University at the age of 12 years old. As a teenager, she was presented multiple awards for competitions and received her degree in Art History from the University of Texas at Arlington and Northwestern University.
Currently, Lauren is the owner of her own decorative finishing company, Sandscapes, Fort Worth, Texas, and also a premier corporate teaching instructor for Faux Effects International, Inc. Additionally, she has been published in many publications including, Luxe, Fort Worth Texas, and Faux Effects World Magazine.
