Amy Morfesi of Amy’s Paint Brush, Inc. in Fort Walton Beach, FL recently finished a floor mural in the 58th AMU Mighty Gorillas’ new hangar at Eglin Air Force Base. “The gorilla is a very important symbol to the men and women of the squadron, as it represents their trips to Iraq, the planes they took down and the sacrifices they make every day to keep our country safe,” explains Amy.
Working off a four-inch picture of the design, Amy hand-drew the emblem on the hangar floor to a 15-foot diameter without the use of a projector. SetCoat®, FauxCremeColor™,ColorSeal™,C-500™and HS Rock-Kote™ were used to create the commanding mural. “I have had several challenges in my painting career and have always welcomed them, as those challenges have pushed me to find new strengths and solutions that have increased not only my professional ability, but also personally,” says Amy. “I have been using Faux Effects® products for the past eight years, but in the past three years, I have relied on Faux Effects® products consistently to create some really amazing faux finishes for my clients.”
Amy states further, “The mural was received with great appreciation…I walked away from this project with such a great sense of accomplishment and pride, as well as my gratitude for having your tech support team of Cat and Joan a phone call away to guide me through this…Thank you!”
