“I Love StoneDecor”

Take a dated fireplace soon to be dismantled and add StoneDecor™…viola! An ugly architectural element has been transformed into a more contemporary piece that compliments this newly refinished Caribbean home.

Shiree and Keith Ingram of Dry Creek Finishing, Inc. in Naples, Florida used their finishing expertise to revitalize the fireplace and mantle and saved the homeowners the time and mess that happens when removing a built-in structure. “This was an old brick and concrete fireplace that had become an eyesore that originally was planned to be completely removed. Instead it became a beautiful focal point where the homeowners and their friends love to sit around and visit,” Shiree explains. Faux Effects’® StoneDecor™ was their first product of choice to change the brick fireplace to a tumbled marble piece.

“After many layers of fiberglass tape and drywall mud, all the brick was smoothed out. After that, we applied three different shades of FauxCreme Color™ mixed with StoneDecor™. This application was in a non-working fireplace, but we have used it in shower stalls, on counter tops and on a huge Ft. Lauderdale Beach project in a decorative application for the ceilings throughout the home.”

StoneDecor™ is a natural marble dust mixture that can be rolled, brushed, pounced or troweled over a variety of surfaces including SharkSkin™ and SetCoat®, as well as directly to tile, cement and laminates.

StoneDecor™ is made almost entirely of marble dust and forms a marble surface when dry. Neutral and translucent in color, StoneDecor™ can be tinted with FauxCreme Color™.
